AAL 2 - Active and Assisted Living

Formally, AAL is contribution of the European Union towards research and development programmes of several Member States according to Article 185 of the TFEU. Switzerland is herein associated and provides the largest national funding budget so far.

The initiative aims at improving the standard of living of the elderly and of people with physical impairments by means of advanced Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Current Call Information

AAL Call Challenge 2016 has been launched!

“Living well with dementia” – “The contribution of ICT to integrated solutions for enabling the wellbeing of people living with dementia and their communities”.

The aim of this call is to support innovative, transnational and multi-disciplinary collaborative projects. The call will be open until 26 May, 2016. The online application procedure is organized centrally by the AAL Association. Swiss organizations interested in participating are strongly recommended to contact the Swiss AAL Office at the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) before handing in their application. Please note, that the Swiss participation rules have changed in two aspects. You can find this information highlighted in red in this fact sheet.

Funding agencies from the following countries participate in Call 2016: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, and Spain. Note that only consortia consisting of project partners from at least three of the countries listed are eligible for participation in call 2016.
