International Incoming Fellowships (IIF)

The International Incoming Fellowship aims on funding experienced researchers (in general post docs) out of non-european countries to do research in a European research institution from 12 to 24 months. Researchers from International Cooperation Partner Countries are eligible for funding further 12 months return phase in their home country. The action aims on intensifying the collaboration with researcher from outside Europe and found or establish international co-operations.

In general researchers of all nationalities who do not live or work in an EU member state or associated country can apply. Next to their PhD the applicants have to prove at least four years of experience in their field. The participants may not have lived more the 12 months in the country of the host institution during three years previous the deadline of the call. They apply together with a host institution in an EU member state or associated country.

The grants runs for 12 to 24 (36) months and covers fort he salary of the researcher, research and travel are party eligible for funding. On top, the host institution’s indirect cost are partly funded.

Filing a proposal is only possible referring to one of the specific Calls which are published on the European Commission’s Participant Portal. The call is bottom-up, meaning open topic and open for all areas of research.
